About

A new promenade play on its premiere nationwide tour arrives at Reading Museum.

The drama reveals much about the life and motivation of the great painter Joan Eardley.
Eardley died tragically young and created haunting images of Glaswegian slum children and turbulent Scottish landscapes which were the subject of a major retrospective at the Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art this spring.

Reading Museum’s painting Coastline at Catterline by Joan Eardley will be included in each of the two performances.

Performances at 2.30pm and 6pm.
The production of Joan Eardley: A Private View is a promenade performance, and will require people to stand and move around the performance space for approximately 75 minutes. Portable stools will be provided for those who cannot stand for the duration of the performance.
