Join Reading Symphony Orchestra and members of the Orchester der Landesregierung Dusseldorf for this celebration concert to mark the 70th anniversary of the Reading Dusseldorf Association – an Association started in 1947 to help citizens of Dusseldorf who were destitute following the Second World War.
In a fitting tribute to the early work of the Association (which saw children from Dusseldorf come to Reading in 1948), the orchestra is delighted to welcome the Dusseldorf Opera House Children’s Choir, who will be joining forces with choirs from the Forest School, The Holt School and The Abbey for Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 9 .
The concert will also include Wagner's Prelude to Tristan and Isolde and the Dusseldorf children's choir will be singing three songs from the film "The Choir".
