Piano Trio in G Major K.496

Verklarte Nacht Op.4 (1899 Version for Piano Trio by Eduard Steuermann)

Piano Trio in B Major Op.8 (1853)

Celebrated for its finesse, infectious exuberance, tonal allure and its irresistible panache, the Vienna Piano Trio has long been hailed as one of the "World's leading ensembles of piano, violin and cello" (The Washington Post). Formed in 1988 and winning numerous prizes at International competitions, the trio performs in major concert halls worldwide.

Their programme includes Eduard Steuermann's arrangement of Schoenberg's Verklarte Nacht. Steuermann had a strong association with Arnold Schoenberg; he studied composition with him and Englebert Humperdinck, played the piano part in the first performance of Schoenberg's Pierrot Lunaire and premiered his Piano Concerto.
