Classical Music Alive in Reading 2014-2015

Classical Music Alive in Reading is delighted to present orchestras, conductors, ensembles and soloists of the highest calibre at The Hexagon and The Concert Hall. The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra continue their three-concert residency with an exciting evening of your favourite film music by John Williams – including Harry Potter, Superman, Star Wars & War Horse; popular works by Mendelssohn, Mozart and Tchaikovsky under the baton of Michał Nesterowicz and cellist, Natalie Clein playing Dvořák’s magnificent Cello Concerto. Also returning to The Hexagon is the English Chamber Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, European Union Chamber Orchestra and Russian State Symphony Orchestra.

Not forgetting another fantastic RPO Noisy Kids concert – Magic and Mystery!

The Concert Hall will be welcoming pianist, Radu Lupu and The Sixteen back to the stage, and presents concerts by soprano, Elizabeth Watts, clarinettist, Michael Collins with The Heath Quartet, cellist, Narek Haknazaryan and award-winning chamber choir, Tenebrae.

Classical Music Alive is delighted to launch the brand new Emerging Artists Platform. An exciting new initiative that actively looks for provide a concert platform for artists just embarking on an international performing career. In partnership with Get Reading, we will learn more about these artists with interviews and post-concert reviews. In addition young instrumentalists from the Reading area will be invited to attend the artists’ rehearsal and meet them to learn more about becoming an international performer.
