South Street, doubledotdash!? & Darklands

Double Dot Bash!

Venue: South Street (Directions)

Sat 21 May, 14:30

Advisory age: Strictly 14+

South Street Arts Centre, local promoters doubledotdash!? and regular club night Darklands are delighted to bring you this year’s Double Dot Bash! festival, which is once again full of established names from different genres of leftfield music making. The bill is a deliberately eclectic mix of great music from the worlds of alt-folk, DIY rock, electronic, drone and everything else in between.

Among the many highlights, we are thrilled to be welcoming Texas/London electronic-noise-rock trio Shit & Shine; fast-rising noiserock / doom / kraut / whatever 6-piece Hey Colossus; Devon bred,  Bristol based guitar quartet Spectres (fresh from a remix album featuring Mogwai, Factory Floor, Hookworms & Richard ‘Death in Vegas’ Fearless); Irish trance-inducing, acoustic-minimilists Woven Skull; all female trio hailing from Ireland, France and England (respectively) The Wharves; and analogue synth  duo The Twelve Hour Foundation.
Add to that Nottingham’s Grey Hairs, Manchester’s Ill, a rare show from Reading's own Monster Movie (featuring a member of Slowdive), as well as more to be announced, and it’s set to be another eclectic journey through unchartered song & sound.
Utilising both stages at South Street, from 2.30pm till 1am, there will be food available from Tutu's Ethiopian Table and two bars, serving local ale and other fine beverages. Over several successful year’s the festival has quickly established itself as an important date in the calendar for Reading's discerning music fans. Capacity is extremely limited so book early.
Line up (so far):
Shit & Shine, Hey Colossus, Spectres, Chantal Acda, Grey Hairs, Woven Skull, The Wharves, Working Man Noise Unit, The Twelve Hour Foundation, Stef Ketteringham, Monster Movie, The Leaf Library, Moonbow, Origami Horses, The Pawnbroker, Martin Phone, Horse Rock & Old Ernie.
