Sounds of Salvation - End of An Era

Venue: South Street (Directions)

Sat 12 Nov, 19:00

Door time: 18:30

Sounds of Salvation has been the UK’s only Christian ska band for the last 12 years. We do high-octane, explosive ska worship music.

But now, after 12 years of skanking around the United Kingdom (and once France) SoS have decided to call it a day. We’ve had a fantastic ride and we thank God for all the amazing opportunities he has given us over the years and the people we have met.

We put out our first album, Like It Is, almost exactly ten years ago and have gone on to produce two other full albums; Ska-gje and Rise Of The Ska Machine along with several EPs; Nuking The Fridge, Ska Mass and the Never Stand Still EP series.

We’ve done some amazing gigs and have been privileged to worship in many places and with many different people.

In that time we have had three drummers, four guitarists, six bassists, three trombonists, two saxophonists and two trumpetists, not to mention two singers! But four of the original lineup (Andy, Hannah, Pete and Michael) still somehow remain!

But it can’t go on for ever. We’re getting old and creaky and we just can’t keep pogoing round like we used to.

So we’re planning to do our last ever “final fond farewell” gig on the 12th of November 2016 at South Street Arts Centre, in our home-town of Reading.

It’s going to be a night to remember. SoS will be playing a selection of their repertoire from the last 12 years and there may be some appearances from old friends.

There will not be another chance to skank with SoS. Don’t miss it!

Please note: Standing only
