Tyondai Braxton - solo electronics and video

Dawn of Midi - Aakaash Israni (bass), Amino Belyamani (piano), Qasim Naqvi (drums)

A don’t miss double bill of America’s most inventive musicians.

Composer, electronic musician and former Battles front man, Tyondai Braxton brings together electronic and modern orchestral elements in his thrilling new solo show.

Drawing on music from his latest album HIVE (Nonesuch), recent EP Oranged Out along with new material, Tyondai experiments with sound in a uniquely playful way to deliver "a sonically absorbing experience" (Q Magazine).

Since leaving experimental rock band Battles to focus on his own work, Tyondai has written for the likes of Kronos Quartet, collaborated with Philip Glass at All Tomorrow's Parties and had his multimedia piece HIVE premiered at the Guggenheim Museum, NYC before performances worldwide.

The first half sees a performance from equally original US act Dawn of Midi fresh from supporting Radiohead at Madison Square Gardens and a show at Sonar this summer.

An acoustic trio comprising bassist Aakaash Israni, pianist Amino Belyamani and drummer Qasim Naqvi, Dawn of Midi's sets are as energetic and rhythmic as a seamlessly mixed DJ-set, mesmerising fans in the same way the group's favourite experimental and electronic acts have for decades.

Produced by Sound UK. Funded by Arts Council England.
