The Floyd Effect presents - Pink Floyd: The Psychedelic Years

Pink Floyd

Saturday 14 September, doors 7pm

There are many Pink Floyd tribute bands, and The Floyd Effect is numbered amongst the best of them. But all of them play much the same material, drawn from albums such as Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall. Recognising that many people still enjoy the band’s remarkable earlier material such as Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, More, Atom Heart Mother, Meddle and Obscured By Clouds, The Floyd Effect has created a unique show that takes audiences back to the heyday of psychedelia.

The Psychedelic Years only includes material released between 1967 and 1972, drawing from the stunning albums of that period as well as recently discovered videos of the band’s live performances and their seminal movie, Live In Pompeii. With lighting designed to invoke the spirit of the UFO Club, projections from the era, lots of oil wheels and (where permitted) haze and incense, The Psychedelic Years takes the audience back to the swinging sixties and early seventies with more than two hours of the greatest music ever written.
