South StreetBaby Dee
Wednesday 24 February 2010, Doors 8pm Cult songwriter, harpist, accordionist and iconic performer, Baby Dee returns to South Street with a new album on Tin Angel (Devon Sproule, Paul Curreri). Produced by Maxim Moston, ‘Book of Songs’ completes a full circle for Dee. Indeed it’s a wonder the album ever came to be made at all. Baby Dee’s story takes us from a street in Cleveland, via New York nightclubs, playing alongside Antony and the Johnsons, destroying a house with a tree and returning to Cleveland to finally write this beautiful, funny and at times, heart wrenching record. All that is to say, Baby Dee is a true American original. Support comes from THE CAIRO GANG & Papa Jules. All Tickets £10 Subject to booking fee |
