Saturday 11 July, afternoon doors 2pm, evening doors 7.30pm South Street will stage a one-day mini-festival of live music this July, culminating in a live performance from the wonderful A Hawk and a Hacksaw. Full Line-up And from Reading... + A special sound instalation. The journey of A Hawk And A Hacksaw – Jeremy Barnes (vocals, accordion, drums) and partner Heather Trost (violin) - has embraced the sounds of a myriad places and people. From the midlands of England, to France, the Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary, via the pair’s hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico, this evolving musical story continues to enthrall. Brand new album Délivrance finds our protagonists forging deeper into the culture of the old East, and coming back with a suite of euphoric melodies for times of revelry. Touring as a four piece band - supplemented by trumpet and Bouzuki - the band are embarking on their most extensive European tour to date. Ahead of the main show, South Street in association with doubledotdash present South By South Street, A one-day mini-festival of live music taking place throughout the day. Already confirmed for slots are: Sleeps in Oysters, Chops, Katie Stelmanis, The Pawnbroker, Dolly Dolly, Clark Hammond Duo, Mark Knight and the Witches, Hunting the Shy, Glass Cello and Amy's Ghost.
