The HexagonRoyal Philharmonic Orchestra
Sat 2 May 2009 7.30pm Change to programme Conductor: Charles Dutoit Programme: Due to ill heath, Jean-Philippe Collard has had to withdraw from this concert. We are delighted to announce that winner of the London International Piano Competition 2009 Behzod Abduraimov has agreed to replace him. Charles Dutoit has recently been appointed the Royal Philharmonic’s new music director. In a slight change to the previously advertised programme, he will conduct an all-Prokofiev programme beginning with the composer’s The Love for Three Oranges: Symphonic Suite, followed by Prokofiev’s electrifying 3rd Piano Concerto performed by Behzod Abduraimov. In the second half of the programme, RPO will perform a suite of excerpts of what many regard as the greatest ballet score ever composed, Prokofiev’s Romeo & Juliet. Pre-concert talk 6.15pm-7pm Penta Hotel Reading (FREE) Tickets: £31, £27.50, £24.50, £19.50, £15 Subject to booking fee |
