About

Reading's Aldworth Philharmonic is delighted to return to the school whose founder, Richard Aldworth, gives the orchestra its name - Reading Blue Coat School. This special concert will see Old Blues Edward Reeve and APO Music Director Andrew Taylor team up once again as Edward continues his Beethoven piano concerto cycle with the third in C minor. Before that, a host of talented RBCS pupils take centre stage to perform movements from concertos by Vivaldi, Bruch, Ferdinand David and Haydn, providing a wonderful opportunity for them to showcase their skills and musicianship with a full orchestra.

Vivaldi
Bassoon Concerto in E minor, soloist Emily Reeve

Ferdinand David
Concertino for tenor trombone, soloist Marcus Corbin

Bruch
Violin Concerto No. 1 (1st & 2nd mvt), soloist David Fifield

Haydn
Trumpet Concerto, soloist Angus Trott

Beethoven
Piano Concerto No.3 (soloist – Edward Reeve)

Conductors
Andrew Taylor, Jonathan Bowler, Elizabeth Burrowes, Dominic Oldfield

Way Hall, Reading Blue Coat School, Holme Park, Sonning Lane, RG4 6SU
