Town HallSeascape - Recital
Friday 1 June, 7.30pm Part of Reading Summer Proms The Victoria Hall - Town Hall The opening event of WAM – a recital with a scientific twist by mezzo and WAM Director Pierrette Thomet and pianist Steven Faber. Seascape is a celebration of the sea – a driving force for weather, and an inspiration for some of the most romantic and beautiful music in the classical repertoire. The programme includes the rarely heard and lusciously romantic 'Poème de l'Amour et de la Mer' as well as a selection of songs from Elgar's classic Sea Pictures - plus Cole Porter's uplifting Tale of the Oyster and Rossini's brilliant songs of the Venetian Regata, to end the recital on the proverbial high note! Tickets £20, Concessions £17 Subject to booking fee |
