  • Provide vision and strategy for Culture, Heritage and Arts in Reading
  • Act as a strategic Great Place Board overseeing development and delivery of the Reading Great Place Scheme
  • Raise the local, national and international profile of Culture, Heritage & Arts in Reading

Aims & goals

  • To provide vision and strategy for Culture, Heritage and Arts in Reading
  • Work in partnership to increase the profile, investment and support of the arts and culture in Reading
  • To implement a shared Reading Culture & Heritage Strategy and delivery plan and monitor its delivery
  • To encourage excellence in Culture, Heritage and the arts in Reading
  • To help influence and support opportunities for community engagement in the arts, particularly among children, young people and those who experience barriers to participation
  • To raise Readings reputation and profile for Culture, heritage and the arts – ensure it reflects internal and external contributions
  • To provide an overview and add value to key Culture, Heritage and arts initiatives and maximise benefits
  • To develop wider engagement with the business community
  • To deliver an Annual Cultural Forum (linked to cultural market place, key commissioning bodies with awards at end)
  • To ensure wider demographic representation in cultural activities and work with diverse local groups
