Prize-winning Russian pianist, Pavel Kolesnikov, plays Brahms, Louis Couperin and Schumann at The Concert Hall. In March this year Pavel released a recording of works by Louis Couperin, his 3rd CD with Hyperion, with some excellent reviews:
‘Very few pianists of Kolesnikov’s generation share his abundance of intelligence, sensitivity, imagination and sheer instrumental mastery’ (Gramophone)
‘Kolesnikov flips from idiomatic ‘clavecinist’ to romantic pianist and back in the blink of an eye … make no mistake, there’s fine pianism aplenty’ (BBC Music Magazine)
At The Hexagon, our Resident Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, will present three fantastic concerts. In this refreshed format, we will continue to present the highest quality of music-making with international soloists and repertoire that will thrill, delight and inspire. These will be complemented by a programme of education activities working in local communities. We hope you will join us on this journey to celebrate the RPO's ongoing partnership with us.
The Concert Hall has seen (and heard!) endless phenomenal performances over the years, and 18/19 will be no different. Eight more concerts by a variety of artists and ensembles who are leaders in their field.
