Following their involvement at the groundbreaking Lumière London, Cirque Bijou will be coming to Reading!

Roll up, roll up. It is the 250th anniversary of circus in Britain and across the country, artists, communities and audiences are coming together to celebrate this most accessible, most thrilling and most liberating of art forms.

Set against the beautiful and atmospheric backdrop of Caversham Court Gardens, Cirque Bijou bring the party to Reading with an immersive evening of the most contemporary of circus.

Combining traditional skills and daredevilry with modern technology, live music and sophisticated styling, you will witness beautiful, graceful and inspiring performances supported by performances from the communities of Reading against this unique riverside backdrop.

An accessible event for all the family.

Cirque Bijou creates and produces bold, visually arresting, highly physical circus.
Through collaboration with exceptional and diverse talent, and the use of multiple art forms, Cirque Bijou comments on and challenges contemporary culture, and inspires a sense of inclusion and shared meaningful experience.

This is a standing event. Some chairs will be available for those who need it, but do feel free to bring your own.

If you would like to be part of the event please email producer@readingthamesfestival.co.uk – no performance experience is necessary and is open to all participants young or old, disabled of non disabled. However, all participants will need to be able to commit to one rehearsal on the morning of 2 September in Reading Town Centre (venue to be confirmed in August.)
