The beauty of music for the sorrowful soul.

The Polish community in Reading extends an invitation to experience two very special evenings of musical Lenten Lamentations.

On Saturday, 10 March, in a two-part concert, Joanna Boślak-Górniok (harpsichord) will play solo lamentations by Johann Jakob Froberger (1616-1667), including ‘Meditation sur ma mort Future’ and Partita in A: ‘Plaincte faites a Londres pour passer la Melancholie la quelle se joüe’, with the addition of new music by Dariusz Górniok. In part two, Medieval music specialist singer and harp player Agnieszka Budzińska-Bennett will perform music for Lent from Paris (12th and 13th century), meditative Middle-English songs of the c. 14th and medieval sequences from the Spanish Las Huelgas cloister.
